DCT Technology Releases MOS V1.0 CNC Equipment Operating System Software

Advanced Machine Operation System Enhances Manufacturing Efficiency and Precision

 

In February 2025, Tianjin, China — DCT Technology (Stock Code: 839939) officially released MOS V1.0, an innovative operating system designed specifically for CNC equipment.

MOS (Machine Operation System) V1.0 is DCT’s first machine operating system, running on computers to manage CNC equipment hardware, provide human-machine interfaces, and perform processing, inspection, and measurement according to specified programs. MOS V1.0 offers both an all-in-one version (MOS-PIM: Processing, Inspection, Measuring) and individual or combined versions for processing, inspection, and measurement. Its main features and characteristics include:

Intuitive and Intelligent Operation

The interface adopts an open Windows style that is both professional and user-friendly with a high degree of intelligence. The foolproof operational guidance process makes after-sales training and new user onboarding easy. Users can customize their operational environment according to personal habits, making experienced operators more efficient. The system truly achieves a “what you see is what you get” approach, with intuitive and effortless control that makes functions immediately apparent.

 

Powerful File Editing Capabilities

 

The system supports file rotation, translation, and mirror transformation, as well as path element selection, sorting, merging, scaling, and relative movement. It also allows changing path layers and grouping paths by region. MOS integrates professional CAM data processing modules, supporting the import and editing of various data formats including DXF, Gerber, HPGL, and G-code. The editing process remains smooth even with tens of millions of data points, eliminating the need to open separate CAM software for complex data processing.

Seamless MES Intelligent Interconnection

The MES module is based on Industry 4.0 standard protocols, supporting Web API, Web Service, SECS, CFX, MODBUS, IPC-SMEMA, and more. It not only offers free access to all ports for third parties but can also be customized for proprietary communication protocols. This greatly reduces the technical barriers to interconnection, providing strong information assurance for centralized management, intelligent decision-making, and collaborative manufacturing.

Efficient Automation Module Integration

 

All automation instruction sets are modularly encapsulated. Depending on equipment configuration, users can either reference mature templates or customize them according to specific needs. For new application scenarios, testing personnel only need to edit processes or change sequences to quickly validate new modules’ execution flow and operational efficiency. This truly achieves a low-code configurable application mode, eliminating the human and time costs of repeated development and validation.

Rich Adaptive Targeting and Positioning Modes

 

The targeting and positioning system uses self-developed libraries that are more specialized than commercial ones. It supports regular target graphics such as circles, crosses, squares, diamonds, and triangles, as well as irregular shapes like edges, corners, and templates. Positioning modes support both whole-board and panel positioning, as well as local area positioning. The positioning results can be transformed using proportional rotation, translation, and scaling, or non-proportional distortion adaptive mode. These diverse positioning modes adapt to various process application scenarios.

 

Professional Marking Module

 

The marking module includes template creation, label settings, and program creation. Different encoding rules can be created for different templates, supporting fixed codes, dates, serial numbers, and various encoding systems, as well as circular, line segment, and grid-type path filling modes. Templates can be configured once and reused repeatedly, meeting both simple marking needs for characters, barcodes, and QR codes, as well as professional marking requirements with multiple rule combinations.

2D & 3D Measurement Support

 

2D measurement supports both manual specification for quick measurement and image recognition for precise measurement, as well as programmed preset steps for automatic measurement. 3D measurement can measure the depth and taper of circuit board paths, the area and volume of surface-mounted components, and observe the roughness of paths or through-hole sidewalls. Additionally, the measurement module can be used as independent software with other measurement tools.

 

Superior Compatibility and Adaptability

 

The MOS system supports industry-standard lasers, control cards, cameras, and other auxiliary components, continuously upgrading as the market evolves. It supports mainstream brand lasers including IPG, Awave, EKSPLA, TRUMPF, PI, Edgewave, Coherent, Spectra-Physics, and INNGU; motion control cards from Leadshine, GOOGOLTECH, Delta Tau, ACS, and DCT; galvanometer control cards from SCANLAB, SCAPS, JCZ, and DCT; cameras from Daheng, Dahua, Hikvision, and Grayspot; as well as various processing auxiliary components including power meters, barcode scanners, and height sensors. This superior compatibility enables adaptation to virtually all types of CNC processing equipment on the market.

 

Versatile Application Modes

 

Depending on hardware configuration, the system can support mechanical drilling and milling functions, laser scanning processing modes, and measurement of processing results for dimensions and depth. About MOS

 

MOS is a human-machine interaction platform for CNC processing equipment that integrates processing, inspection, and measurement. Using a graphical operating interface, it efficiently manages and controls the machine’s movement system, vision system, processing system, and other auxiliary components through allocation of machine hardware resources.

MOS supports precise positioning of motion systems at different speed levels, including 3 or 3+2 axis mechanical motion systems, 2 or 3 axis electromagnetic induction scanning methods, high-speed rotating polygonal mirror scanning methods, and 2-axis acousto-optic scanning methods.
