AOV IPC Solution Based on Rockchip RV1106

 

Recently, Rockchip showcased its latest technological achievements in the field of machine vision at its 8th Developer Conference, particularly highlighting significant upgrades in low-power IPC (Internet Protocol Camera) technology. These technological upgrades not only improved product performance but also addressed some issues present in traditional low-power solutions, such as false alarms, missed detections, and loss of critical event information. Rockchip’s AOV (Always on Video) product series, including single-lens and dual-lens WiFi/4G products, can achieve constant power for battery-powered IPCs, thus saving peripheral costs such as PIR sensors. The launch of these products marks a new development stage for outdoor low-power IPC technology.

AOV technology has been maturely applied in Rockchip’s vision solutionRV1106series and has already been mass-produced and commercialized in products by several well-known brands and solution providers. The RV1106 solution supports dual MIPI inputs, enabling dual-lens functionality without additional switches, and supports different dual-lens resolution combinations, with a maximum combination of 5M+5M.

Rockchip’s AOV IPC solution has the following four key highlights:

1. Lower Power Consumption and Longer Standby Time

 

Based on multi-level power control inside the chip, the product can achieve lower power consumption in both standby and operating states. This allows the product to support 24/7 recording without missing any footage. Even in the absence of abnormal conditions, it can maintain low frame rate recording at one frame per second or 2-3 frames per second, greatly reducing the missed detection rate.

 

2. Equipped with AI Algorithms for Faster and More Accurate Intelligent Recognition

 

The built-in self-developed AI algorithms replace traditional detection components such as PIR sensors and radar, capable of simultaneously identifying multiple types of targets, such as human figures, faces, vehicles, pets, flames, etc. This makes monitoring scenarios more extensive and far-reaching.

 

3. AOV+AI-ISP Technology for Starlight Night Vision Effect

 

Rockchip’s AOV+AI-ISP technology includes two core algorithms: low-light noise reduction and intelligent enhancement. Through deep learning and adaptive texture enhancement, it significantly improves the clarity of details and color reproduction in nighttime scene images.

 

4. Super Encoding 2.0 Technology to Reduce Cloud Storage Costs

Based on rich information within the encoder, Super Encoding 2.0 technology can further compress bit rates. This helps reduce frequent writing to SD cards or time uploading to the cloud, thereby lowering cloud storage costs.

As the application proportion of low-power IPC products in the security field continues to rise, Rockchip’s newly upgraded AOV IPC solution, with its high-performance vision chips and self-developed AI algorithms, will make it more convenient for industry clients to create security front-end products that meet multi-scenario application needs.
