Huawei Launches Cutting-Edge Driving Solutions to Shape the Future of Automotive Intelligence
Shanghai, China, April 22, 2025– Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Automotive Solutions held a technology conference themed “Creating Possibilities with Intelligence” in Shanghai, officially releasing several groundbreaking solutions including Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 autonomous driving system, HarmonySpace 5 cockpit, and Qiankun XMC vehicle control system.
Qiankun ADS 4: Commercial Highway L3 Autonomy Now Available
The newly launched Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 adopts the World Engine + World Behavior Model architecture (WEWA), designed specifically for the future of autonomous driving. This innovative architecture reduces end-to-end latency by 50%, improves traffic efficiency by 20%, and decreases hard braking incidents by 30%.
A major industry bottleneck has been the lack of driving data in edge cases. Huawei’s cloud-based Qiankun World Engine addresses this challenge by leveraging AI-generated diffusion models for edge cases, providing high-quality scenarios at a density 1,000 times greater than the real world, effectively enabling “AI training AI.”
On the vehicle side, newly released high-precision solid-state LiDARs, in-cabin laser vision sensors, and distributed millimeter-wave radars significantly enhance vehicle perception capabilities. The World Behavior Model represents the industry’s first autonomous driving-native foundation model, featuring multi-modal perception abilities that can activate different capabilities based on specific scenarios.
HUAWEI XMC: Revolutionary Digital Chassis Engine
The newly released HUAWEI XMC digital chassis engine introduces the industry’s first all-domain fusion architecture, achieving centralized control of vehicle body, motors, suspension, steering, braking, and other components. It stands as the most highly integrated chassis engine in the industry today.
Features like the road condition preheating network, spatiotemporal intelligent suspension network, and multi-dimensional collaborative control model allow vehicles to predict vehicle status and road conditions. By making integrated decisions for all components, the system achieves optimal vehicle control.
When Qiankun ADS 4 works in conjunction with the Huawei XMC digital chassis engine, it delivers an experience where “knowledge and action are unified.”
CAS 4.0: Enhanced Multi-Dimensional Safety and Driving Experience
The comprehensively upgraded Collision Avoidance System (CAS 4.0) aims to continuously enhance active safety capabilities with five-dimensional safety coverage: all speeds, all directions, all targets, all weather conditions, and all scenarios. Newly released high-precision solid-state LiDAR, in-cabin laser vision sensors, and distributed millimeter-wave radar will significantly improve vehicle perception, enabling road-adaptive Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), intelligent tire blowout stability control assistance, driver incapacitation assistance, and enhanced sentinel mode.
The parking-to-parking experience has been further upgraded to support highway toll station ETC passage and Vehicle Parking Delegation (VPD) functionality. By June 2025, an estimated 500,000 parking lots nationwide will support the parking-to-parking feature.
The VPD function will enable cross-level navigation in underground parking garages and automated charging services. By June 2025, approximately 100,000 parking lots nationwide will support VPD. Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving will provide users with “Worry-Free Parking” protection benefits of up to 6 million yuan per vehicle.
Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 comes in four versions, with the ADS Ultra flagship version featuring a dedicated highway L3 solution. Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei Smart Car Solutions, stated: “Huawei has already conducted 600 million kilometers of highway L3 simulation and verification on the cloud World Engine, fully preparing us for the commercial deployment of highway L3 technology.”
HarmonySpace 5: Upgraded with MoLA Architecture for Immersive Cabin Experience
HarmonySpace 5 adopts the new Mixture of Large Model Agent (MoLA) architecture, integrating general large model capabilities with domain-specific AI capabilities for music, video, and other areas, building a rich hardware and software ecosystem with multi-space scenario experiences.
In the travel space, voice interaction becomes more human-like. The cockpit’s ability to execute ambiguous semantics and complex instructions has significantly improved, with an 85% success rate for colloquial voice commands. The Qiankun Cloud Magpie domain-specific large model supports user voice feedback on vehicle issues, enabling professional diagnostics and remote protection.
In the music space, the officially released HUAWEI SOUND Extraordinary Series can be configured with 43 speakers, providing a 7.5.10 super-surround sound experience. Using adaptive sound field control algorithms, all vehicle speakers can emit “negative” sound waves to create a “noise cancellation” effect. Front and rear audio zones can operate independently without interference. The comprehensive active noise reduction effect can reach 6-8dBA, creating a library-level quiet environment.
In the video space, the viewing experience becomes more spectacular. The new 16.1-inch in-vehicle smart screen features 3K resolution and 98% P3 color gamut. With the help of the industry’s first AI image enhancement engine “Shanhai Image Quality,” the perceptual quality of 720P video can reach up to 1440P levels. Additionally, the million-pixel smart car lights will upgrade to external color 100-inch projections, breaking spatial limitations.
In the theme space, the cockpit becomes more integrated from appearance to core. Wallpapers, screensavers, boarding sounds, and ambient lights are coordinated into unified themes, highlighting aesthetic consistency. Application modules collaborate as one, allowing smooth transitions through the new 3D intelligent control desktop even across applications.
